This Indenture made this Seventeenth day of February Eighteen hundred & Three between Thomas 
Patterson and Fanny his wife of the State of South Carolina, Abeville County of the one part 
and William Boatwright of the State of Georgia and Elbert County of the other part.  
Witnesseth that for and in the consideration sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid 
at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged fully satisfied have sold bargained, promised, released, conveyed and confirmed 
unto the said William Boatwright all that tract or parcel of land lying in Elbert County, 
formerly Wilkes, containing three hundred acres more or less beginning at a B.O.+3 running 
S 69 1/2 W to a Spanish O.+-3, thence to Picket Shiflets line, thence along said line to 
the corner from thence to the beginning, being a part of a tract or parcel of land sold to 
the sd Thomas Patterson by Ezekia Baley (Bailey) and deeded to him the Nineteenth day of 
July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Four, which said tract or parcel of land with 
all & singular the rights, title, profits, Interests, hereditments belonging to the said 
premises to have and to hold until the real proper use and behoof of the said William 
Boatwright, his heirs and assigns, and the said Thomas Patterson and Fanny his wife, do 
engage for ourselves, our heirs and assigns at all times, well and truly, to warrant and 
defend the rights, title and claims of said land free from the claim or challenge of any 
person or persons unto the said William Boatwright, his heirs and assigns, in fee simple 
forever.  In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and Seals the day and State 
above written.  Signed, Sealed and Delivered in presence of:

ELBERT COUNTY        :  Memorandum that on the day and date within written the within named 
Ezekia Bailie came and voluntarily relinquished all rights title claims or demands unto or 
out of the within mentioned tract or parcel of land free from him his heirs and assigns 
forever, in witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal the day and date within written.
